Helping Others

Food Outreach to Families

Since early last year, unemployment has been on the rise. Many families are out of work and need a helping hand. That is why Sondaykids has teamed up with the Montgomery County Food Bank to help feed families in our area. This event is held the fourth Saturday of each month.

Jesus fed the multitudes, but it’s going to take much more than groceries to transform this area or any area. This community is riddled with drugs, incest, adultery, drug abuse, ad infinitum!

The only power that will transform lives is as Pastor Tom says, “real love.” So while reaching out with food, we don’t infringe on their space, but gently and quietly ask them if they have a need for prayer. If they say yes that is when the love of God begins to flow through us. The lady with the 12-year affliction wasn’t healed until she touched the hem of Jesus’ robe. So, too, when folks ask for prayer they are reaching out to God. We as His ambassadors have no power apart from Him, but we know that faith stirred Him then and faith gets His attention now. So we pray for these folks with great confidence in God’s love and integrity of His Word. The result – miracles, people healed, doors for jobs suddenly opened, family members delivered from addictions, the list goes on and on and on.

So we invite you to get involved in these outreaches with us and come volunteer if you live in or around the Houston area. If you can’t come, you can certainly help us buy more groceries by donating to Sonday. All your dollars are tax exempt. We love our viewers and thank God for you.
